Facets let patrons narrow their initial search results by limiting the search results to a subset of items. By default, the software delivers a set of predefined facets including Author, Format, Item Category 1, Item Category 2, Material Type, Keywords, Language, Library, Shelf Location, Publication Date, and Subject. If you want to include a facet that is not supplied by default, you may need to create the search field to base the facet on ( for more information, see Adding or editing a search field ).
To set up a facet
| 1 | From the Admin console, choose Profiles. |
| 2 | For the profile you want to work with, choose the Select menu > Configure Facet Display. |
| 3 | Move the search fields that you want to use as facets from the Available list to the Selected list. |
| 4 | When you have finished, choose OK to save the facet list and close the page. |
For more information, see Configuring the facet display for a search profile.
